Sodium methoxide methanol solution is a colorless or light yellow viscous liquid, sensitive to oxygen, flammable and explosive. Very easy to absorb moisture.
Insoluble in benzene and toluene. A strong irritant and corrosive.
Commercial forms are also available in the form of solution compounds. There are also forms of solvates.
